Union, the key interoperability layer powering the BTCfi flywheel, is embarking on a landmark integration with Babylon Genesis: Union will become a Bitcoin Supercharged Network (BSN), and receive 25 million BABY tokens to accelerate the Bitcoin-secured future of decentralized finance.
With Babylon’s Genesis launch marking the dawn of BTC staking, Union has played a foundational role in routing nearly 98% of all BTC LST volume into the ecosystem. From enabling canonical transfers between Ethereum, Cosmos, and Bitcoin L2s, to facilitating the BABY airdrop and ongoing bridge operations, Union has been the protocol layer quietly knitting the BTCfi stack together.
Now, as Union approaches public mainnet, it's committing to becoming a Bitcoin Supercharged Network (BSN), and transforming its PoS blockchain into one secured in part by crypto’s most decentralized and time-tested asset. Union will integrate the Babylon Bitcoin staking protocol, allowing BTC stakers to secure the network while earning rewards.
Key Highlights of the Integration
Union will receive 25M BABY tokens (0.25% of BABY supply) to support its BTCfi Points Program and other incentive programs.
BTC stakers will earn 3.6% of Union’s yearly inflation and BABY stakers will receive 0.4%. This arrangement will continue as long as Union remains a BSN.
Babylon Genesis will provide the software and operational stack required for BSN integration, with both core teams collaborating on go-to-market and technical implementation.
Union and Babylon Genesis will extend these primitives across new BTCfi projects—bridging liquidity, security, and user incentives across execution environments.
As Babylon Genesis scales Bitcoin security, Union scales the message layer, enabling seamless ZK-powered interoperability across L1s, L2s, and restaking protocols. The two are deeply aligned in this mission: to unlock BTC as a programmable asset and reshape the way chains coordinate, secure, and grow.
